This piece is an extension of my "Material Compartments" collection, which is a material study on pockets. This is an expression of otherness, an inability to fit in and hide the features that make one different. In the wake of COVID19, it is also a commentary on distance. The length of the garment itself allows only for distance. Those who are different naturally isolate themselves. The piece questions also the purpose of a glove: to separate, to isolate, to protect.
